A Baghdad house whose elevation works on contrast between pale massing and recessed openings.
02 — Our role
A recessed opening is a climate decision before it is a formal one — it gives shade and privacy at once. We handled the recesses and the pale massing as a single element, and coordinated the depths with the structural engineer.
03 — Approach
Each opening’s depth was set by its orientation, so the visual contrast is a consequence of solar treatment rather than an addition to it.
04 — Outcome
A complete house design whose elevation is built on opening depth and massing.
