01 — Overview

A neo-classical elevation in columns, cornices and stone cladding, entered under a colonnaded porch. Inside, a separate formal majlis sits under three chandeliers against a bookmatched marble panel; dining is placed beneath a floating stair; and the first floor holds the living room, a study and bedroom suites with their own bathrooms. Every detail, from the wall panelling and concealed lighting to the marble and the brass fittings, is drawn within the same interior package.

02 — Our role

A majlis is not a larger living room: it is a room with its own door, its own service and its own scale, where the owner receives people who never enter the rest of the house. Our role was to separate it from the family route in the plan itself, rather than curtain it off after construction.

03 — Approach

The ground floor runs on two routes: the guest route ends at the majlis, while the family route carries on to dining, the kitchen and the stair. Dining was placed beneath the floating stair so the vertical space becomes part of the room instead of a corridor above it. The first floor holds the living room, the study and the bedroom suites.

04 — Outcome

Complete architectural and interior design for the elevation and both floors, including the wall panelling, concealed lighting, marble and fittings.
